This brief salute to those who flew with the Allied air forces during the Second World War is limited to my own personal archives. Robert Quirk who lives in Manitoba, Canada, is building a more comprehensive memorial on his Web site

He is welcome to make use of the items I have gathered. There is no copyright restriction on anything written by me, but several items have been selected from British newspapers and due acknowledgement should be given.

The world soon forgets its heroes. We must not let this happen to the young men with wings who so bravely sacrificed their lives so that we might remain free.
